Motorways

Motorways are the uk special roads they are in the main free there are tolls on some bridges and special roads.

Motorways are indetifed by blue signs on the approach to a motorway you will see it on roads signs

To join the motorways you should accelerate up to the speed of the traffic already on the motorway and whilst using OBSERVATION,  SIGNAL, MANOUVER slip into the traffic already on the motorways

Keep to the left unless overtaking, my suggestion,is to travel slightly over 60mph but not as fast as the limit  of 70 MPH (112kph).

You should know your exit number that you need to leave the motorway or alternatively which motorway you changing to.

Give yourself plenty of time motorways often become clogged and progress slowed .
If you are unfortunate to breakdown pull as far left as you can put your hazard warnings lights on and either use your phone or the motorway phones to inform motorways control of your problem they will need to know the motorways you are on. Your direction of travel and the marker post number which is situated every 100 metres this will give you the marker post number and the direction of the nearest phone.

To leave the motorway first know the exit  number you want, and this is more important than the name of this city as there are frequently two.
You will get "count down" markers at three hundred metres two hundred and one hundred metres you should be in the left hand lane with a left indicator on reduce you speed after you leave the motorway always be careful after driving on the motorway as you can misjudge your speed.
Do not drive too close to the car in front give yourself to stop beware that drivers frequently use hazard warning lights if they have to slow or stop on the motorway.
